In 2022 schreef ik onderstaand stukje in mijn blog; 

"There is no such thing as entitlement or a right to a bright future. How picturing yourself in someone else’s shoes, puts your own successes and future (and your personal effect on those) in perspective. And how global citizenship does not mean unilateral profiting, but bilateral exchange- working on a brighter equitable future for all. Not leaving anyone behind. Realising people are moving. Realising that nobody got to choose the place where he/she was born. And realising that would your cradle have been in another place, you would also like to have a comfortable, safe life. It does not hurt to be humble nor to be grateful. 

We lijken vergeten te zijn dat niemand vrijwillig vlucht. We zijn vergeten dat vluchtelingen mensen zijn. Met net zoveel recht op gezondheid, veiligheid en geborgenheid als iederen. 

Op 16 juni loop ik met collega's van Pharos 40km tijdens de Nacht van de Vluchteling om aandacht te vragen voor de positie van vluchtelingen.
